CBD stands for Cannabidiol. This is one of the many cannabinoids found in cannabis plants. Cannibinoids interact with the Endocannabinoid System (ECS) in our bodies. Research has found that the ECS plays a key role in regulating mood, sleep, appetite, memory and other functions. It is believed that CBD (as well as other cannabinoids) and the ECS work together to regulate our fight / flight / freeze response and can help reduce anxiety and thus improve overall health & well-being.

At the federal level, CBD produced from Industrial Hemp was made legal when President Trump signed the 2018 Farm Bill into law. Each State has it’s own set of laws and regulations surrounding the production, sale and use of CBD produced from industrial hemp. In Florida where we are based, CBD is legal for sale and consumption without a medical marijuana card. This is great news for people who want to use our products and experience the potential benefits of Hemp derived products, without the hassle or expense of getting a medical card. 

In a word, no. Cannabis plants such as the marijuana plant and the industrial hemp plant are part of the same family of flowering plants (Cannabaceae). The biochemistry of the two plants is very different. The Marijuana Plant includes compounds which have a psychotropic affect when consumed. The Industrial Hemp plant does not contain the same levels of compounds that produce a feeling of being “high”.

Not in the State of Florida. While state and local regulations vary, generally speaking the answer is no. Thanks to the 2018 farm bill, CBD produced from the Industrial Hemp plant is not regulated in the same way as Marijuana.
